  • Detailed Description

The tooth claw crusher is widely utilized in the food processing, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, primarily for grinding solid materials into fine particles. Its working principle relies on the shearing, impact, and friction between high-speed rotating tooth claws and a fixed fluted disc to achieve the desired particle size. The equipment features a straightforward structure, intuitive operation, high crushing efficiency, and uniform output size.

Working Principle

The crusher comprises a motor, transmission system, crushing chamber, tooth claws, and a screen. Driven by the motor via the transmission system, the tooth claws rotate at high speed. Materials undergo shearing and impact within the chamber and are discharged through the screen once pulverized. The screen aperture dictates the final particle size.

  • Core Collision Mechanism: Equipped with moving and fixed fluted discs. The moving disc rotates rapidly with the motor, while the fixed disc remains stationary, their tooth claws interlacing.
  • Repeated Pulverization: Upon entering the crushing chamber, materials are subjected to high-speed impact, friction, and inter-particle collisions, breaking down until they pass through the screen holes and exit the discharge outlet.
  • Screen-Dependent Fineness: Interchangeable screens with various apertures allow customization. Smaller holes yield finer output, typically achieving sizes below 2mm.

Application Scenarios

Suitable for pulverizing diverse materials including food ingredients, chemical raw materials, and Chinese herbal medicines. In food processing, it is essential for grinding grains, spices, and sugars. Its robust processing capacity and consistent particle distribution make it a critical asset in production lines.

Operating Precautions

  • Material Moisture Content: Keep below 3% to prevent screen blockage.
  • Speed Control: Maintain RPM under 3500 to prevent equipment overheating.
  • Regular Maintenance: Routinely inspect tooth claws and screens for wear. Replace damaged components promptly to sustain efficiency and extend service life.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Core maintenance involves daily cleaning and lubrication, periodic complete replacement of tooth claws and screens, and tightening of transmission components. Troubleshooting must follow the protocol: disconnect power and wait for full stop before inspecting material, electrical, and mechanical factors.

Fault Phenomenon

Causes

Troubleshooting Methods

Low Output

1. High material moisture
2. Low voltage, insufficient motor power
3. Severe hammer wear (hammer mill type)
4. Severe flat/square tooth wear (tooth claw type)
5. Uneven or too slow feeding
6. Low RPM or belt slipping
7. Screen hole too small

1. Process after drying
2. Avoid peak power periods
3. Reverse or replace hammers
4. Replace flat/square teeth
5. Feed evenly, operate at full load
6. Ensure RPM, tighten the belt
7. Replace with an appropriate screen

Output Too Coarse

1. Screen damaged
2. Gap in screen installation
3. Screen hole too large

1. Replace the screen
2. Reinstall the screen properly
3. Replace with an appropriate screen

Blowback at Feed Inlet

1. Material too wet, screen hole blocked
2. Collection bag too full
3. Collection bag too short or poor breathability

1. Dry the material, clear blockage or use a larger screen
2. Empty the collection bag promptly
3. Lengthen or replace the collection bag

Crusher Blockage

1. Excessive feed rate
2. Air pipe blocked
3. Wind wheel severely worn

1. Reduce feed flow
2. Remove air pipe and clear blockage
3. Replace wind wheel

Daily Care and Regular Maintenance

  • Daily Protocol (Pre/Post Operation): Disconnect power and wait for a complete stop. Thoroughly clean residue from the crushing chamber, tooth claws, and screen. After processing wet materials, wash and dry to prevent rust. Inspect for wear, cracks, or screen damage; replace immediately if found. Wipe dust from the exterior to keep cooling vents clear.
  • Pre-Startup Inspection: Lightly grease end bearings (avoid over-lubrication). Tighten claw plate bolts, casing lock screws, and the motor base. Adjust belt tension (standard depression of 10-15mm); replace if cracked. Manually rotate the rotor to ensure smooth, noise-free operation.
  • Periodic Deep Maintenance: Replace worn tooth claws as a complete set to maintain rotor dynamic balance (weight variance per claw ≤1.0-1.5g). A static balance test is recommended post-replacement. Securely tighten nuts and install spring washers during assembly. Normal bearing temperature rise is ≤40°C; investigate lubrication or wear if temperatures are abnormal.

Key Safety Warnings

  • Strictly Prohibited: Do not clean, repair, or reach into the chamber while the machine is operating.
  • Post-Operation: Idle the machine for 1-2 minutes to clear residual material before powering off.
  • Cleaning Constraint: Wipe the motor casing only with a damp cloth. Direct water flushing is strictly prohibited to prevent electrical leakage and insulation damage.
